Adopt a Turtle

Turtles are found on every continent except Antarctica and sea turtles are found throughout much of the ocean, yet more than 50% of living turtle species are considered threatened. Turtles are harvested in large, unsustainable numbers from the wild both for consumption and for the pet trade. This includes protected species taken by wildlife traffickers.

Your turtle adoption supports Born Free USA's work in West Africa training wildlife law enforcement as well as providing support and resources in the protection of turtles and other endangered species. Your adoption will also support our campaign against the exotic pet trade and captive exploitation so that turtles can remain where they belong, in the wild.
